Cosy Rip Socks

Flower Corners Blanket

If you like c2c stitch, you are definitely going to like this blanket pattern, c2c stitch are worked in an unusual way. Where the stitches are made around a main flower square to create bigger squares, after making four squares and the border then they are joined together to create a pretty blanket to treasure forever.

Darning needle

37” / 94cm – before blocking
38” / 96cm – after blocking

Pattern Instructions

Square (make 4)
With MC
Round1: start a magic ring, ch3, 11 dc, sl in 3rd ch, close ring (12 sts)
Round2: ch3 work in BBL only, 1 hdc in first sts where ch3 made, *2hdc in next sts. Rep from * to the end, sl in 3rd ch (24 sts)
Round3: ch3, work in BBL only, 2 hdc, *1hdc, 2hdc. Rep from * to the end, sl in 3rd ch (36 sts)
Round4: ch3, hdc, 2hdc, *1hdc in next 2 sts, 2hdc. Rep to the end, sl in 3rd ch (48 sts)


 

With CC, use different color for each square
Round5: ch1, sc in first 2 sts, make a DTR popcorn in first sts from round 2, skip one sts, sc in next 3 sts, *skip 1st from round 2 and make DTR popcorn in next st, skip 1 st, sc in next 3 sts. Rep from * to the end
Last rep will be ending with 1 sc instead of 3, sl in first sc. (12 popcorn, 36 sc)

Note: it’s easier to pinch your working piece when making the DTR popcorn



Round 6: With MC and CC together
 

with MC, ch3, dc in next st
*with CC fpdc in 3rd dtr from popcorn
with MC, dc in next 3 sts
Rep from * to the end Last rep will be ending with 1 dc instead of 3, sl in 3rd ch. (12 fpdc, 36 dc)

Note: for a neater look, keep your other yarn hidden while working, and always finish your working stitch with next color change


With MC
Round 7: (ch3, dc, ch1, 2dc) in same st, dc in next 11 sts, *(2dc, ch1, 2dc) in next st, dc in next 11 sts. Rep to the end, sl in 3rd ch.
Round 8: ch2, bphdc in next st, *(dc, ch1, dc) in next ch space, bphdc in next 15 sts, rep from * ending with 13 bphdc instead of 15, sl in 3rd ch
Round 9: ch1, sc, ch3, 3dc in same st, sc in next ch space, *ch3, 3dc in same space, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, (ch3, 3dc in same st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st) rep 4 times**, ch3, 3dc in same sts, sc in next ch space, rep from * ending at **, sl in first sc, cut yarn


Adding c2c Corners

Corner 1 with CC
With RS facing, attach yarn to first ch3 space into any corner
Row 1:
*ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * 5 more times, turn
Row 2: ch6, skip 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch, sc in next ch space, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * to last space, ch3, 3dc in same space, turn
Row 3 to 8: rep row 2
Row 9: sl in next 4 sts, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * to last space, turn
Row 10 to 19: rep row 9
Row 20: sl in next 4 sts, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space, cut yarn







Corner 2 and 3 with CC
Make corner 2 then with different CC work corner 3 the same way
With RS facing, attach yarn to first ch space next to last corner made

Row 1: *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * 5 more times, turn
Row 2: ch6, skip 3 ch, dc in next 3 ch, sc in next ch space, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * to last space, ch3, 3dc in same space, sl st in opposite space from first corner made, turn
Row 3: ch3, sl st into next space from opposite corner, ch3, 3dc in ch3 space, sc in next space, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space, rep from * to last space, ch3, 3dc in same space, turn
Row 4 to 8: rep row 2 and 3 twice, rep row 2
Row 9: sl in next 4 sts, *ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space rep from * to last space, turn

Corner 4
With RS facing, attach yarn to first ch space next to last corner made

Row 4 to 8: rep row 2 and 3 twice, rep row 2

Border around each square
With MC, attach yarn to first sts of any side
Round 1: sc in each sts accress, sl in first sts
Round 2: ch 3, 2dc in the same sts, *dc in next 77 sts**, 5dc in next st, rep from * to the end. Ending last repeat at **, 2dc in first sts, sl in 3rd ch
Round 3: ch3, work in bbl only, 2dc in the same st, *dc in next 81 sts, 5dc in next st, rep from * to the end, 2dc in first sts, sl in 3rd ch

Joining squares
Join squares by using slip stitch method, with four squares facing up insert hook in front loop of each square and pull up a stitch, join a vertical line and a horizontal line as shown in the diagram


All around border
With MC start working in 3rd st of any corner
Round 1: ch3, 2dc in same st, dc in next 170 sts, 5dc in next st which is the 3rd st of the corner, Rep from *twice, dc in next 170 sts, 2dc in next st which is the starting st.
Round 2: ch1, sc in same st, ch3, 3dc in same st, skip 1 st, sc in next st, * ch3, 3dc in same st, skip 2 sts, sc in next st, Rep from * 56 times **, (ch3, 3dc in same st, skip 1 st, sc in next st) twice
Rep from * three times ending last rep at **, ch3, 3dc in same st, skip 1 st, sl in first st, Turn.
Round 3: sl in next 4 sts, *ch3, 3dc in next ch space, sc in next ch space, rep from * to the end, cut yarn


With CC
Start in any side, count ch spaces and attach yarn to the 30 ch space (this should be in the middle of any side)
*Ch3, 3dc in same space, sc in next space, rep from *59 times more, cut yarn.
Rep from * with different CC three more times. The border will raffle a bit, steam block will fix it
Weave all ends.


Blocking
Pin the blanket out (do not stretch it so much) then steam it carefully.

Dtr popcorn = make 5 double trebles in same sts. Remove hook and insert it in first dtr then make a sl st
