This pattern is simple and classic,
and a great first socks project for beginners hence it uses a worsted weight
yarn instead of fingering which is more difficult for some newbies, even expert
knitters need some easy peasy project every now and then

Materials
60g of any worsted weight yarn
5mm / 80cm or 100cm circular needle
Notions: Scissor, 2 Markers, Darning needle
Gauge
16.5 sts x 24 rows = 10cm
Size
22.5cm x 10cm
Abbreviations
K: knit
P: purl
k2tog: knit two together
W&T: wrap and turn around next stitch
Rep: Repeat
PM: put marker
M: marker
Sl: slip stitch
St: stitch
Sts: stitches
Note
W&T in a knit stitch: sl next stitch to right needle with yarn in back, bring yarn in front, sl back stitch to left needle, bring yarn to back and turn your work
W&T in a purl stitch: sl next stitch to right needle with yarn in front, bring yarn to back, sl back stitch to left needle, bring yarn to front and turn your work

Cuff
Using tubular Cast on start with 40 sts (you can substitute this cast on with any cast on method you prefer and skip the set-up rows)
Whole pattern worked in the round using the magic loop method (divide your sts on the needle in which you have 19 sts in first section and 21 sts in second section)
Work the set-up rows
Rnd 1: *k1, sl 1 wyif, rep from * to end
Rnd 2: *sl 1 wyib, p1, rep from * to end
Repeat row 1 and 2 one more time
After setup work 1 by 1 rip until cuff measures 7.5cm
Heel
Heel worked flat over one needle only (19 sts section) using wrap and turn short rows
Row 1: k6, pm, k7, pm, k to last st, W&T
Row 2: p to last st, W&T
Row 3: k to last 2 sts, W&T
Row 4: p to last 2 sts, W&T
Row 5: k to last 3 sts, W&T
Row 6: p to last 3 sts, W&T
Row 7: k to last 4 sts, W&T
Row 8: p to last 4 sts, W&T
Row 9: k to last 5 sts, W&T
Row 10: p to last 5 sts, W&T
Row 11: k to last 6 sts, W&T
Row 12: p to last 6 sts, W&T
Row 13: k to 2nd marker, pick the wrap and knit it together with the next st, W&T
Row 14: p to 2nd marker, pick the wrap and purl it together with the next st, W&T
Row 15: k to last 5 sts, pick the wraps and knit them together with the next st, W&T
Row 16: p to last 5 sts, pick the wraps and purl them together with the next st, W&T
Row 17: k to last 4 sts, pick the wraps and knit them together with the next st, W&T
Row 18: p to last 4 sts, pick the wraps and purl them together with the next st, W&T
Row 19: k to last 3 sts, pick the wraps and knit them together with the next st, W&T

Foot
now start working in the round picking the 2 wraps we made in last row
Round 1: k19, pick the wrap and k, 1 by 1 ripping to last st, pick the wrap and k
Round 2: k19, 1 by 1 ripping to end of round ending with k1
Repeat last round for 29 rounds or until your pinky figure is covered then start the toe decreases
Toe
Round 1: *k3, k2tog, rep from * to end
Round 2, 4, 6, 8: k to end
Round 3: *k2, k2tog, rep from * to end
Round 5: *k1, k2tog, rep from * to end
Round 7: *k2tog, rep from * to end
cut yarn, use darning needle to gather life stitches and weave all ends
